Thanks to the Porticus programme the BMSS staff, residents, and participants of our various engagement groups who recently took a SPOOKTACULAR cross community, cross border best practice & fact finding trip to County Leitrim.
Due to the the now vast relationships build up right across Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland (and beyond) the BMSS team now have the network to allow us to visit other community projects and similar projects to our own impending new Share Space facility on the old Finlays site.
Yesterday we went on a best practice visit to the Ballinamore Area Community Council and then onto the absolutely amazing Glenview folk museum (THIS IS A MUST SEE).
We heard from the wonderful Maureen and Michael on the ballinamore project which was extremely similar to our very own shared space building, so it was great for our group to get a feel and build up a bank of ideas. The Glenview folk museum also added food for thought around what else could be added to our new building in a historical context and we envisage a programme or 2 around this. We would like to thank Brian for his time and patience and our very own participants who without the shared space project just would not be acheivable.
